Where I was when we won the World Cup!
I’m sure we all remember where we were when the final whistle blew and made us champions. I myself was at work, and had to continually ask customers if they knew the score as they entered the store where I work. I also became a ‘runner’ and had to keep running outside to the nearby flower stall to get updates from the stall’s radio which was tuned into the game. I remember the nervous excitement of the closing minutes of the game. I also remember after the match had ended, and all the pubs were emptying, watching my high street fill up with loads of fans walking down the town with St George’s flags, and passing cars beeping in support, which in turn caused the fans to cheer back every time this happened. There was an amazing atmosphere buzzing around the town all day.
